What this policy covers

This policy covers Koatigo on the web, WhatsApp, and Telegram. Koati is an automated tour advisor helping travelers explore activities and tours across Costa Rica. Booking options depend on the tour and may lead to an operator or marketplace provider. Our team can review conversations to provide support, resolve problems, and assess service quality.

Information we handle and why

• Host pilot inquiries: your name, email, phone, optional property location, campaign source, and permission to contact you, so our authorized team can explain the referral program and review participation. Requesting information does not enroll a property or subscribe you to a newsletter.
• Messages and travel details, such as tour interests, dates, party size, necessary participant ages, and pickup information: to answer your questions, remember your preferences, and help you reach the operator’s checkout.
• Contact and account information, including your WhatsApp phone number and profile, Telegram account details, browser language, and information that identifies your web chat: to keep your conversation connected and respond to your requests.
• Approximate location and information about how you reached our website, such as the page, referring site, or campaign that brought you here: to understand how travelers find Koatigo and assist with support. We do not collect precise GPS location.
• Records of tour searches, selections, checkout and external activity links, the external site domain, link openings, support requests, message delivery, and errors: to provide and protect the service, understand activity demand, resolve problems, and honor your messaging and privacy choices.

Do not send payment-card numbers, banking credentials, identity documents, or detailed medical information in chat. Information you include in messages may be stored. An adult must arrange reservations. Share children’s ages only when needed for tour pricing or eligibility, and discuss specific accessibility or medical needs directly with the operator.

Cookies and checkout

We use cookies and similar browser storage to let you access your chat, remember how you reached our website, and keep a random browser identifier for product analytics. We may also retain visit information for support. Clearing your browser’s storage or starting a new chat does not delete information we already hold.

With your permission, we load Google Ads to measure visits from ads and show relevant ads. Google may use advertising cookies, ad-click identifiers, and information about pages you visit. You can allow or decline these advertising cookies in the choice shown on our website, then change your choice using “Advertising choices” on any page. Declining does not stop you from using Koatigo.

We load Meta Pixel automatically on our public landing, host pilot, and chat pages to measure ad visits, saved host information requests, and the first message sent in a web chat, and to support relevant advertising. Meta may receive browser and device information, advertising cookies, ad-click identifiers, and page information. We do not send chat text, names, emails, phone numbers, hotel referrals, or booking details with these events. You can stop future Meta tracking using “Opt out of Meta tracking” below or in our page footers. We remember this separate choice in this browser and honor Global Privacy Control when your browser sends it. Clearing browser storage resets your choice. This does not change your Google Ads choice, and opting out does not stop you from using Koatigo.

We use PostHog to measure visits to public website pages, campaign source, host inquiry form starts and saved inquiries, chat starts, reservation requests, progress toward checkout, and openings of recommended external activity links. We record these events automatically using a random browser identifier for website visitors or a conversation identifier for direct messaging. External link events include the destination domain and activity region, but not your messages, name, email, phone number, payment details, or full destination URL. Host inquiry events include a random submission identifier, language and campaign tags, without the contact details or property location from the form. Public page views exclude admin pages and do not include URL query strings or fragments. Other events may also include tour request and hotel partner identifiers.

We record your advertising choice, the notice and choices shown, the time of the choice, and a random browser identifier so we can document consent and withdrawal. This record is separate from your chat. You may contact us to request access to or deletion of your consent record.

Payment takes place through the operator’s checkout, whether displayed on our website or opened separately. The operator and its booking and payment providers handle information you enter there under their own terms and privacy notices. Enter payment and required identity information through that process, never in Koatigo chat.

Who receives information

We use service providers for AI replies, hosting, data storage, and customer support. AI providers process your conversations to generate replies. Our authorized support team and the services it uses may receive messages, contact details, and website visit information to assist you. WhatsApp/Meta and Telegram also process messages you send through them.

When you request host pilot information, we send your submitted contact and property details to our internal Slack notification channel so our authorized team can follow up.

Koatigo does not train its own AI models on your conversations. AI providers may retain or otherwise process conversations under the applicable service terms and account settings.

Tour operators and booking platforms receive the tour and participant details needed to check availability or prepare checkout. They handle their own bookings, payments, and customer records under their privacy notices. Our service providers and operators may process information outside your country. We may also disclose information where required by law or necessary to address abuse or protect legal rights.

Retention and deletion

Host pilot inquiries are kept separately from chat history. Contact us using the support email below to request access, correction, withdrawal of contact permission, or deletion of an inquiry. We verify the request before disclosing or changing contact information.

Conversation history and related information are scheduled for automatic deletion after 90 days without a new message from you. You can request earlier deletion at any time. After verifying your request, we remove the relevant conversation and associated messaging preferences. Automatic history deletion preserves your opt-out choice and the account details needed to honor it. Backup copies and records held by other providers may remain until their retention periods end. Your choices and requests

Email koatigo@airtop.ai for human support, access, correction, deletion, a privacy complaint, or to exercise other rights available under applicable law. We verify ownership and scope before disclosing or changing data. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to object, restrict processing, obtain a copy, withdraw consent where relied on, or complain to a data-protection authority.

You can ask Koati to stop messaging you or email us to opt out. Once your request is recorded, we stop replying through the WhatsApp account, Telegram account, or web chat it covers. You may not receive a final confirmation in chat. This does not delete your history or cancel a booking. To resume replies, email us; while your opt-out preference is saved, sending a new chat message alone does not restart them. Deleting all data for an account or web chat also removes its messaging preferences. Tell us each account or chat you want covered. For web chat, the preference applies to the browser session you used.

Policy changes

We will update this page when our practices change and provide any additional notice required by applicable law. The revision date appears above.
